WFP Scales Up Its Emergency Response In South Sudan

The joint WFP-UNICEF teams - bringing assistance via plane and helicopter – have now reached more than half a million people in South Sudan, including 100,000 children under the age of 5. Over 1.4 million South Sudanese who fled their homes because of the conflict remain displaced within the country. Most are sheltering in remote and hard-to-reach areas, and more than half of them are children.
