Mali: Barges In The Desert Carry Food To Timbuktu

WFP’s Rein Skullerud reports from Mali, where WFP is using barges to ship food up the Niger River to the desert city of Timbuktu and communities in the north of the country which have been cut off by the ongoing conflict. The barges also move faster, covering the distance from Mopti to Timbuktu in two days where a truck would take more than four.
