Focus On Zero Hunger: COP21 (Episode 8)

As world leaders gather in Paris for climate talks, this episode of WFP’s “Focus on Zero Hunger” series takes us to Somalia, a country that heavily relies on agriculture to feed its people. Climate change makes droughts and floods more frequent and more intense – for people in Somalia, it means destroyed crops, lost livestock and many displaced families facing hunger.

“Over the last 10 years, half of our operations have been in response to climate disasters and helping people to recover from them. Climate change means that we need to be constantly improving the way that we prepare and respond to those crises, always looking for opportunities to help people anticipate climate disasters before they occur,” says Richard Choularton, Chief of WFP's Climate and Disaster Risk Reduction Programmes.
