A Big Day for PLB
13 June 2011
Monday has been a big day for PLB. It started in the early morning with breakfast shared by some key players in the current partnership, as well as some potential new partners. Discussion was lively and by the end it was clear that several new companies were ready to come on board. PLB is truly gathering momentum and beginning to lodge in the minds of people who really can make a difference with the decisions they take.
At a news conference a little later in the day, Unilever CEO Paul Polman announced the commitment of three local companies to the PLB partnership - PT. Tiga Pilar Sejahtera Tbk, GarudaFood and Indofood. It is local players who will be key to ensuring the sustainability of PLB into the future in its bold bid to tackle child under-nutrition.
Also now on board with PLB is Dutch financial services giant Rabobank. With a long history of providing financial services to the agricultural community, Rabobank are an exciting new addition to the PLB family.
So – exciting times at PLB. But more importantly, exciting that the project has an ever-growing potential to improve the lives of some of the poorest young children in Indonesia and beyond, and give them the fair chance in life that every human being deserves.
