Food vouchers in cash till in Zaatari shop
WFP assists over 350,000 Syrian refugees living amidst local communities in Jordan’s 12 governorates through vouchers. When food is available in markets but people do not have the money to buy it, WFP uses food vouchers to provide food assistance. Many Syrian refugees living in Zaatari are employed by the community based organizations that run the voucher shops. The system also helps to inject capital directly into the Jordanian economy.
