Malawi, January 2006 - Vulnerable Groups
Malawi, January 2006
WFP operations in Malawi require nearly 98,000 metric tons of food for the current protracted relief and recovery operation from January to June 2006.
WFP's food aid distributions target the most vulnerable, including the elderly, the chronically ill, orphans and other children at risk, pregnant and nursing mothers, underweight children under the age of five, households with chronically ill people or which care for orphans, and poor households that have suffered two successive years of crop failure.
