Yemen: Food assistance for IDPs
Some 18,000 internally displaced people live in the Al Mazraq camp in Hajja Governorate of northwestern Yemen. They depend on food aid.
A quarter million civilians have been displaced by the conflict in northern Yemen. WFP has now reached 215,000 with food assistance.
Among the commodities distributed by WFP are ready to eat food such as High Energy Biscuits.
Of the 250,000 civilians displaced by the conflict in northern Yemen, about 50,000 are under the age of five.
More than half of all children under age five are chronically malnourished - 2.6 million children (according to UNICEF State of the World’s Children). And more than 1 in 10 suffers from acute malnourishment.
