Former WFP Executive Director Catherine Bertini recently visited Senegal, where she saw a range of ongoing WFP activities. In this photo Bertini arrives at a salt production site in Fayil, where WFP supports salt iodization by providing potassium iodates to iodize the salt.

After her visit to Fayil, Bertini saw multipurpose gardens in action in Baboulaye, a village in the region of Fatick. Women from the village manage the gardens, which change in use depending on the season.

 Le 3 avril 2013, Madame Catherine Bertini a effectué une visite de terrain à Fatick (région située à 155 km) de Dakar (capitale du Sénégal). Accompagnée de Mme Pasqualina Desirio (Head of Programme au Bureau Régional du PAM), elle s'est rendue à Fayil pour visiter les sites de productions du sel et à Baboulaye pour voir les jardins polyvalents. Cette visite a été organisée par le Sous bureau du PAM à Kaolack avec M. Ousmane Ousmane Badji (Chargé de Programme) et M. Mamadou Lamine Konté (Field Monitor Assitant point focal Developpement Rural) qui ont accompagnés la délégation
