Tens of thousands of South Sudanese refugees and asylum-seekers have crossed the border into Ethiopia, fleeing the fighting in their homeland. Most are women and children, who arrive here exhausted, hungry and registering alarmingly high malnutrition rates. Humanitarian officials forecast their numbers here could reach 150,000 or more by the year's end. WFP's response begins right at the border points and continues at the refugee camps, with distributions of food, High Energy Biscuits and, for the malnourished, special highly fortified food supplements.
