Renewing Hope by Improving Nutrition In Tete Province
Under nutrition remains a critical issue in Mozambique - visible in the 43 percent prevalence rate of chronic malnutrition among children below age five. It is an issue that not only leads to long-term health problems for children and diminishes the treatment success of people living with HIV and TB, but also affects people's ability to simply function on a day-to-day basis. Through the provision of nutrition supplements in health centres and food vouchers for vulnerable households, WFP is supporting the Government of Mozambique to combat the debilitating and widespread effects of malnutrition in the country.
