WFP distributes mid-morning snacks to alleviate short-term hunger and keep children in school at the Sahrawi refugee camps in Algeria's western province of Tindouf. The school feeding programme provides more than 32,000 primary school children with mid-morning snacks in the form of fortified date bars or dates. When received as an in-kind distribution, re-constituted dried milk also complements the snack.
