Chad, Bahai, February 2004 - Refugees living in the open air
Chad, Bahai, February 2004
Near the village of Bahai, north of Tiné. Refugees live in the open air in an area where the temperatures drops down to 5 degrees at night and where sandstorms regularly occur, bringing cold winds and sand and causing pulmonary infections. Refugees only have a few cloths and branches from trees to protect themselves. They have no other option than to wait the end of the storm.
