Bangladeshis receive WFP food aid
Bangladesh December 2003
Inhabitants of Maniknagar, on the eastern outskirts of Dhaka, Bangladesh, receive food aid at a WFP distribution point. Recurring flash floods have covered seventy percent of arable land, slowly leaching the soil of the nutrients needed to grow rice, and increasing the number of those needing food assistance to 20 million.
