Between May 22-24, WFP invited representatives from embassies in DPR Korea on a field trip to South Hamgyong Province.

A total of 17 delegates, including four Ambassadors from Brazil, India, Indonesia and Vietnam, as well as representatives from China, Egypt, Mongolia, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom participated in the field visit.

The delegation visited WFP-assisted schools and children's homes, orphanages, and households and also toured a factory to see how WFP's fortified blended food “Super Cereal” is produced locally.

The mission provided an opportunity for embassy staff based in Pyongyang to meet children and women assisted by WFP and to get a better understanding how WFP uses donations, and the process behind WFP’s programming, implementation and monitoring.
