Cédric Charpentier, Regional VAM Officer and colleagues inspect the food distribution and the food security situation of Congolese refugees in Batalimo camp. Two month rations were provided to refugees who managed to crop gardens and sell fresh products back to the local population, as a result of WFP food assistance.

The amount of food distributed to beneficiaries differs according ot the size of the householed. Congolese refugees in Batalimo camp receive two month ration of maize flour, yellow split peas, vegetable oil and salt.
Mbati, age 38, receives rations for her family of ten. Mbati is grateful for WFP assistance which allows her family to eat every day and improve their nutritional status. Her children's favorite is porridge prepared with supercereals.
