Internal Investigation Launched into Allegations of Staff Misconduct in WFP Fiji office

ROME/SUVA – WFP has launched a formal investigation following allegations made about the behaviour of staff members in its Fiji Country Office.

This is an internal investigation, in its early stages, into harassment claims made by employees against other staff members. It will be led by specialist investigators and conducted through the office of WFP’s Inspector General, in line with UN policy. Local authorities are being kept informed as appropriate.

Relevant staff members have been temporarily removed from their duties while the investigation is ongoing. Administrative measures have been taken to ensure operational continuity under an Officer-in-Charge.

The World Food Programme this year strengthened its policies to stamp out abusive conduct, address the issue of underreporting and build a workplace culture that ensures that all employees are treated with dignity and respect.
