DUSHANBE –The UN World Food Programme (WFP) is marking World Food Day on 16 October by highlighting the power of nutrition to transform individuals, societies and economies, and the need to make it central to all development efforts.

DUSHANBE – The UN World Food Programme (WFP) completed a pilot cash transfer to around 7,000 of the most vulnerable people in Ayni district of Sughd region during January. In partnership with the district authorities, WFP provided cash assistance to 1,426 households with the lowest income, who own only small patches of land and possess few animals or other assets.

YOKOHAMA – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has welcomed the largest ever, one-off donation from the Government of Japan, amounting to US$ 196.6 million. The donation will be used to provide urgently needed food and nutritional assistance to millions of the most vulnerable people in 20 countries in Asia and Africa and will also support logistics operations in eight countries where WFP is working.
