Food and Safety Net Assistance to Refugee Camp Residents and Returning Rwandan Refugees

This Operation has been modified as per Budget Revision 3 (see below).

This budget revision (BR) to the Protracted Relief and Recovery Operation (PRRO) 200343 is proposed to revise the LTSH rate from US$272.43/mt to US$222.25/mt, representing an 18%reduction resulting in overall decrease of US$ 734,997 including ISC.

Rwanda is a landlocked and resource-poor country with a population density of 407 persons per square kilometre. Fifty seven percent of Rwandans live below the poverty line and 37 percent are classified as extremely poor in an economy dominated by subsistence agriculture. Despite these challenges, the country has made great strides in economic and social development since the 1994 war and genocid.
