Petra Miczaika is a pharmacist, psychologist and psychotherapist with a specialisation in bioenergetic analysis.

After working in her own practice for some years she started working for WFP in Rome in 1995. She became Head of the Staff Counseling Unit and started training Peer Support Volunteers in 2000 to form an agency network of staff support.

She has travelled extensively in the field, provided trainings on various stress related issues, inter-agency Peer Support and counselling to UN system field staff.
